Our captains are required to hold, at a minimum, their "Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels" (captain's) license, issued by the United States Coast Guard as well as their "Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit" as issued by the Federal Communications Commission, and we have captains that are members of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. Fishing with any of our three licensed Captains is a fun and memorable experience for you, your family and friends. Be sure to bring your camera!

Captain Shane McGinnis

Shane grew up fishing the eastern seaboard with his father, Captain Mel McGinnis Sr. As a young boy he dreamed of being a professional Charter Boat Captain. He worked every chance he got with his father and brother on their family charter business. Now, with a boat of his own, Captain Shane is one of the premier charter captains in the Ocean City area.

Captain Melvin (Melvie) McGinnis II

Melvie is the oldest of the "Salty Sons." He is a licensed, 6-Pack USCG Captain. He has been fishing out of Ocean City, MD since the early 80's. He has fished the entire East Coast and beyond, including New Jersey, Maryland, North Carolina, The Florida Keys, the Bahamas and as far as Costa Rica. Fishing with Melvie is an experience to remember!

Captain Justin McGinnis

Justin is the youngest of the “Salty Sons.” He spent many of his days as a child receiving “hands on” training from his older brothers. Although his brothers have seniority and more years on the sea, Justin did surpass them with a 100 ton Masters USCG Captain License. He tends to pick on them about it… Whether he’s rigging bait on the back deck or running the boat, you’re guaranteed to have fun when fishing with him.
